Marlena Hubley is a senior payments and fintech executive with extensive experience across acquiring, PayFac, embedded finance, and regulated product environments. She brings a practical, execution-driven approach to complex risk, compliance, and merchant oversight challenges, with a strong ability to translate card network rules, bank requirements, and regulatory expectations into operationally viable solutions.

Marlena has worked closely with acquiring banks, processors, payment facilitators, and network stakeholders throughout her career. These connections, combined with her hands-on experience, allow her to navigate sensitive issues efficiently and facilitate productive, informed discussions with the right stakeholders when addressing elevated-risk merchant activity.

Marlena advises payments companies and fintechs on operational risk, strategy, and compliance. Her background includes leading large-scale initiatives involving merchant onboarding, monitoring, and lifecycle governance, as well as building frameworks that balance risk mitigation with commercial practicality. She is particularly effective in cross-functional environments that require coordination between product, risk, compliance, operations, and external partners.

A pioneer in Payment Facilitation/PayFac, Marlena Hubley is a seasoned product management professional in payments, fintech, and banking who is widely regarded as a disbursement payouts expert with a tremendous background in risk and compliance. She is widely regarded as a builder and operator in complex payments ecosystems, bringing a rare combination of product leadership, risk and compliance expertise, and execution discipline. Marlena gets things done owing to her strengths – conceptual thinking, keen attention to detail, high work ethic, deep technical know-how, and a "can do" attitude. Demonstrated strength in ideation, product strategy, client relations, agile software development and organizational change management, resulting in successfully executing large-scale programs, productivity enhancements, and operational effectiveness improvements. Marlena played a central role in designing, building, and scaling platforms at Litle & Co, Vantiv, Worldpay, FIS, and Maxio, spanning merchant onboarding, payout and settlement engines, embedded finance architectures, and enterprise risk frameworks. A pioneer in product management within the PayFac space, she has consistently translated card network rules, bank requirements, and regulatory obligations into operationally viable and commercially scalable platforms.

Marlena combines strategic judgment with hands-on execution, enabling her to identify gaps, design practical controls, and support implementation in a manner aligned with card brand expectations and acquiring risk tolerance. She is known for moving initiatives forward decisively while maintaining rigor, accountability, and transparency.

Marlena holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Marlena was part of the early, formative product management efforts at Litle & Co and Vantiv to build API-driven PayFac infrastructure and sub-merchant payouts—years before “embedded finance” became a mainstream industry strategy.
